“I am a lifelong Iowan, and I'm proud to live in Johnson County. I will not tolerate being lied to about the cost, necessity, and purpose of this proposed jail. My community uplifts mutual aid and confronts injustice head-on. My neighbors deserve to be listened to by those in positions of power.

“I am, above all else, a liberationist. There are solutions to our problems that do not include investment in incarceration. I am not afraid to dream of and work toward a better way forward, and I encourage both voters and elected officials to do the same.”
