I’m voting no because I think taxpayer money should fund the community’s wishlist, not the sheriff’s.
There is no shortage of ideas for resources that will improve the lives of Johnson County residents, but they don’t happen because supposedly there is no funding. But somehow there’s always money for prisons, jails, and cops. Johnson County is the perfect place to disrupt that trend. I’m part of this coalition because I want to spend $94.5 million on childcare, housing, and mental and healthcare services.
That’s why I’m voting no on Nov. 3.
