Kellan, Iowa City Mutual Aid

I want a world free of prisons, police, and the violent white supremacy these systems enforce daily. I want a world where Black men don’t die behind bars, where immigrant families aren’t ripped apart, where being trans isn’t a crime to be punished. I want a world where our answers to harm are specific, not generalized; restorative, not punitive; and where healing happens in community, not isolation. I want every cell emptied and every cage dismantled. I want this world not for myself—I know I won’t live to see it—but for our children, and their children, and their children’s children. I’m voting no on Nov. 3 because showing up at the ballot box is step zero, and we owe it to future generations to start building something better, now.
